Celebrating Chinese New Year

We will open at 6:30pm and start serving at 7:30pm.
It's Table Service only, so when you arrive please wait to be seated.

Chinese New Year is frequently regarded as an occasion for families to gather for the annual reunion dinner. It is also traditional for every family to thoroughly clean their house, in order to sweep away any ill-fortune and to make way for incoming good luck. Another custom is the decoration of windows and doors with red paper-cuts and couplets. Popular themes among these paper-cuts and couplets include good fortune or happiness, wealth, and longevity. Other activities include lighting firecrackers and giving money in red paper envelopes.
Oriental Night is open to all club members. Members' guests may be invited but only if there is sufficient capacity. Please check first before inviting guests!
Our Chinese New Year dishes are all freshly prepared on the day and are cooked in the 'Chinese Takeaway' style. You have three menu options, a choice of either Meat, Vegetarian or Thai syle meals. Choose one menu option for each person.

Main Course

  • Crispy Chilli Beef For those of you who are unfamiliar with this dish, Crispy Chilli Beef is fried shredded beef steak tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce.
  • Char Siu Pork (Chinese Roast Pork) with Pak Choi This popular dish features Chinese barbeque marianted pork shoulder which has been roasted in the oven and served on a bed of steamed Pak Choi.
  • Egg Fried rice Classic Egg fried rice is the perfect addition to your meal.

Main Course

  • Tofu with Green Peppers and Black Bean sauce Stir fried Tofu & Green Peppers in a rich savoury sauce.
  • Vegetable Chow Mein With classic Chinese flavours, this dish features Egg Noodles, Beansprouts, Peppers, Spring Onion, Mushrooms, Water Chestnuts and Carrot.
  • Steamed Jasmine rice This fragrant rice is the perfect accompaniment for Tofu with Green Peppers.

  • Thai Sweet & Sour Chicken This Thai dish is fresh, fragrant and just the right level of sweetness
  • Thai Beef Massaman Curry Massaman curry is a mild, savoury, and slightly sweet curry with fragrant spice undertones such as cumin, cardamom, and cinnamon. **Contains Peanuts**
  • Plain rice Plain rice is a bit of a misnomer and in Thai it is often referred to as 'khao suay' which literally means 'beautiful rice'.
